In the middle of March, the DBS will be making changes to its IT system and infrastructure, affecting all DBS registered / umbrella bodies. As a result, some disclosure services will be temporarily suspended between Friday 7 March 2014 at 17:00 and Wednesday 12 March 2014 at 08:00.
What does this mean for you?
You can still submit your applications, and we will continue to check them for accuracy and place them on hold if there are any queries. However we will not send applications submitted after 14:30 on Friday 7 March to the DBS until Wednesday 12 March. It also means that you will not receive any disclosure results during this time or be able to check the progress of any applications using the online tracking service.
We understand that our service is critical to you and your business, and have made the decision to not submit any applications during this period in case there are any issues and your applications go astray. Although this is unlikely, if there is an issue we do not want you to have to complete any applications again.
Certificate changes
The DBS will be making small alterations to the certificate. They will be replacing the bar code with a small quick response (QR) code and a sequence of numbers. The font will also be slightly different.
The same security features will be kept so you can still check it’s a genuine DBS certificate by testing the heat sensitive seal and looking at the watermark.
