Disclosure Scotland
check available to anyone in the UK
A basic disclosure is the lowest level of criminal record checks and is available for anyone in the UK and can only be requested by an employer. The basic check contains details of convictions considered to be unspent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (ROA). This check can be for anyone, in any role.
For those working with children or vulnerable adults in selected roles, you may be entitled to a standard or enhanced disclosure through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
