To ensure the certificates being issued are correct please make sure that you are checking application form details against the identification documents and be 100% satisfied that all the details match
Although the DBS do everything they can to ensure the accuracy of the disclosure certificates they issue, if they are given false or inaccurate personal information on an application form this could cause a certificate to be issued with incorrect information or indeed for a clear certificate to be issued when there is information you should be made of aware of. Obviously this should be a concern to you and the vulnerable groups you are trying to protect.
To ensure the certificates being issued are correct please make sure that you are checking application form details against the identification documents and be 100% satisfied that all the details match. Where possible you must strive to confirm, at the very least, the details of the individual’s name, date of birth, current address and place of birth. If any of this information is incorrect you could receive an incorrect certificate and therefore put the vulnerable groups you work with at risk of harm.
