The DBS has reported higher than predicted volumes of applications for this time of year and this is increasing the time it is taking for applications to complete each stage of checking, including stage two. DBS has implemented measures to restore turnaround times to those previously experienced and now, quite rightly, come to expect including recruiting and training more staff. It is expected that processing times will reduce in the coming weeks as the measures implemented start to have an impact on the volume of work.

You can track the progress of your checks via your UKCRBs account as per normal. At the moment it can take up to four weeks for customers to receive their certificate; however the DBS aims to do better than this where possible.
